New Console Features For GTA 5 Rockstar Editor Revealed
Rockstar will introduce several new features for GTA 5 Rockstar Editor when it finally comes to the Xbox One and PS4
Take Two Interactive Software Inc.’s (NASDAQ:TTWO) Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5’s Rockstar Editor will release on Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox One and Sony Corp.’s (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) PlayStation 4, when the next update for GTA rolls out. The update will consist of editing, gameplay capturing, and a directing suite for consoles, Snapmatic integration, new ambient audio options, new fonts, and much more.
According to Rockstar, the update will feature “Ambient Audio and Sound Effects Library,” which adds an atmospheric sound design; “Snapmatic Integration,” which allows the players to export any still frame from one point directly to Snapmatic, so they can select their preferred camera angle; “Director Mode Updates,” which give option to preset locations on an enlarged minimap during the day and night, enabling users to spawn air and water vehicles at their chosen spots; “Copy and Paste Marker Properties,” which let users copy paste audio settings from any one point in the marker to the other in a clip; “New Fonts” which offer more style options, such as changing the title and credits.
Rockstar first launched Rockstar Editor for PC back in April 2015. It allowed users to record, capture, edit, and even share the videos online. Meanwhile, the Director Mode helps to give a more polished and refined feel to the clips, allowing the players to stage sequences and use different character props at various locations in the game.
On August 10, Take Two announced that GTA 5 has sold over 54 million copies worldwide. Take Two's revenue increased by a whopping 142% to $366.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2015. A major chunk of the revenue was generated by GTA Online, GTA V, WWE 2K15, and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.
